Description
Minced Beef Suet – 500g
Our minced beef suet is taken exclusively from the hard, clean fat that surrounds the kidneys of our native breed, grass-fed cattle, sourced from trusted farms in North Yorkshire. This is the purest form of beef fat — firm, white, and packed with rich, natural flavour — with a higher melting point than regular fat, making it an exceptional choice for both traditional and modern cooking.
We mince our suet fresh to order. The high quality of our suet means it melts evenly during cooking, releasing flavour while keeping dishes tender and moist.
Traditional British cooking wouldn’t be the same without it — think light, fluffy dumplings in a slow-simmered stew, flaky suet pastry for a steak & kidney pudding, or the rich depth of a homemade Christmas pudding. But suet’s uses don’t stop there. Its high smoke point makes it ideal for roasting potatoes to golden, crispy perfection or deep-frying for an unbeatable crunch.
At Grid Iron Meat, we prepare suet the way it should be — pure, unadulterated, and full of natural goodness. No fillers, no additives, just the very best fat from cattle raised on pasture for a fuller, cleaner flavour.

There was some issues with delivery (my fault, I but my postcode down wrong) and Ian was amazing at chasing DPD for the delivery and having it delivered at my correct address.

Suet was good quality and made black pudding lovely, The back fat on the other hand was poor. The photo on the website advertises big thick slabs of back fat perfect for curing for lardo. What I got sent was flat scraggy pieces (many) which went straight in the bin. Waste of money. I’ll be careful what I order from you guys from now on. Which is a shame. Maybe check through you packs of back fat. Or change the photo because it’s very misleading and disappointing when you open the pack.

Suet very strong-flavoured, and too roughly minced

Incredibly clean and fresh tasting, I eat it raw to help follow a ketogenic carnivore diet for healing so the subtleties of suet mean the world to me. The flavour was lovely and gentle. I highly recommend this product.

I render the suet in a slow cooker, however, this time there was too much ‘meat’ left after rendering.
