Quality Meats

As a discerning lover of meat, we would advise you to avoid the supermarket shelves whenever possible and seek out a source of quality meats from a specialist butcher.

We’ve made it our goal to source quality meats from well raised animals on local, North Yorkshire farms. We usually have a wide variety of breeds in stock at any one time and are able to produce the cuts you need. If you can’t see what you’re looking for on our website, let us know and we’ll do our best to help. We hope to be able to give you the personal service that you would expect to get from a local artisan butcher – with personal service, attention to detail, freshness and our experience in cutting and cooking meat.

Although we pride ourselves on our ability to act quickly and respond to customers needs, it helps us a great deal if you can order in advance. This will help us to find and prepare the items you’re looking for. As we get to know you as an individual, we hope to learn about the type of meat you like.

We will admit that you will often find meat cheaper than ours. Unfortunately the native breed animals that we specialise in don’t grow quickly and flavour takes time and care to develop. We don’t artificially fatten our animals or give them growth hormones. If you’re on a budget, you will find some of the less popular cuts such as shin and shoulder cuts are often less expensive. They may take a little more care and time in preparing, but you will be rewarded with great taste and depth of flavour.

If you’re unsure about what cut to buy or need a little help with preparation or some ideas for recipes, let us know by phone or email, we’re more than happy to help and we love a challenge.

When you buy your meat from us, you’re sourcing straight from a small farm and everything goes through one butchery with expert butchers who care about the quality of their work. Our farms raise animals sustainably where animals are allowed to forage naturally in pastures and roam freely eating a natural diet without the addition of antibiotics.

If you have any questions about our products, please shout out to us and if we don’t know the answer we’ll be sure to find out for you.
