Wagyu Flat Iron Steaks

Our Wagyu Flat Iron Steaks are a premium cut that delivers exceptional tenderness and rich flavour. Sourced from a North Yorkshire farm, these steaks come from F2 Wagyu cattle, renowned for their exquisite marbling, which results in a melt-in-the-mouth texture.

Key Features:

  • Incredible marbling: Wagyu beef is prized for its fine marbling, which gives the meat a buttery tenderness and deep, rich taste.
  • Tender and juicy: The flat iron cut is naturally tender, and with Wagyu, it becomes even more succulent and flavourful.
  • Versatile for cooking: Whether grilled, pan-seared, or flash-fried, Wagyu Flat Iron Steaks are quick to cook and perfect for a special meal.

Cooking Tips:

Cook your Wagyu Flat Iron Steak over high heat for just a few minutes on each side to achieve a medium-rare finish, allowing the marbling to melt and enhance the steak’s richness. Keep seasoning simple with salt and pepper to let the natural flavours shine.

Perfect for Steak Lovers:

If you’re looking for an indulgent steak experience with the perfect balance of flavour and tenderness, our Wagyu Flat Iron Steaks are an excellent choice for a memorable meal.

What is F2 Wagyu?

F2 Wagyu refers to the second generation of crossbred Wagyu cattle. The term “F2” indicates that these cattle are the offspring of F1 Wagyu cattle, which are a first-generation crossbreed typically between a full-blood Wagyu and another breed, often Angus.

Key Points About F2 Wagyu:

  • Heritage: F2 Wagyu cattle are the progeny of F1 Wagyu, meaning they carry more Wagyu genetics and traits, particularly the high marbling and tenderness that Wagyu beef is known for.
  • Quality: F2 Wagyu often exhibits improved marbling and flavour compared to F1, approaching the quality of purebred Wagyu while still being more accessible in terms of cost.
  • Breeding: The process involves breeding an F1 Wagyu (50% Wagyu genetics) with another Wagyu, resulting in cattle that are 75% Wagyu.

Benefits of F2 Wagyu:

  • Enhanced Marbling: With a higher percentage of Wagyu genetics, F2 Wagyu boasts superior marbling, which enhances juiciness and taste.
  • Tenderness: The beef is exceptionally tender, making it a premium choice for those seeking a high-quality eating experience.
  • Versatility: F2 Wagyu can be used in various cooking methods, from grilling and roasting to stir-frying, while retaining its rich flavour and tenderness.

In summary, F2 Wagyu offers a balance of quality and affordability, providing a premium beef experience with the hallmark characteristics of Wagyu.
