If you’re a fan of chorizo, then you’ll be delighted to know that this chorizo is sourced from a small family producer who belongs to the Consorcio del Chorizo Espanol. This organization was founded to protect the quality and origins of authentic Spanish chorizo. The family behind this producer has been making chorizo since the 1950s, ensuring that you’re getting a product with a rich history and tradition.
Made for Drink sources chorizo that is particular to the region of Lugo, in Galicia. It is made up of five natural ingredients: Duroc pork shoulder, Duroc pork belly, salt, Paprika de la Vera, and garlic. These simple yet flavourful ingredients come together to create a chorizo that is truly exceptional.
One of the key factors that contribute to the quality and flavour of our chorizo is the use of Duroc pork. Duroc is a rare breed of pig that is traditionally farmed in Northern Spain for quality hams and chorizo. This breed produces a delicate flavoured pork, laced with rich, buttery fat. The result is a chorizo that is succulent and full of flavour.
Another important ingredient in this chorizo is the hot Paprika de la Vera. This distinctive paprika is produced in the fertile alluvial soils around the Tietar River in La Vera. It is this paprika that gives authentic Spanish chorizo its unique and delicious flavour.
To ensure the best taste and texture, our chorizo is hung and cured for thirty days. During this time, it is gently smoked over Holm Oak, adding another layer of flavour to the final product. The result is a chorizo that is perfectly balanced, with a smoky and savoury taste.

Pairing the chorizo thins with the right beverage can elevate the experience even further. We recommend enjoying it with a glass of red wine, particularly a Rioja. The salt in the chorizo picks up the fruit flavours in the wine, while the fats help to calm down any tannins. It’s a match made in heaven. However, any young Spanish red wine will work beautifully too.
If you prefer something other than wine, chorizo thins also pair well with a Manzanilla Sherry, an amber ale, or even a Bloody Mary. And for those who prefer non-alcoholic options, a brimming bowl of Seedlip and Premium Tonic is a delicious choice.
