Description
What is our Old Fashioned Gammon Joint?
Our Old Fashioned Gammon Joint is made from free-range Yorkshire pork leg. The leg is cured on the bone using our traditional method, then the bone is removed, the joint is tied and it is air-dried before sale. The joint you receive is therefore boneless and tied, not bone-in.
Gammon is cured pork sold raw for cooking; once cooked, it becomes ham. This joint can be roasted, braised or gently simmered, then glazed if you wish. Serve it hot for a Sunday roast, Christmas or Boxing Day, or enjoy the leftovers cold in sandwiches and salads.
Scoring the skin before roasting helps the fat render and the skin crisp.
For detailed timings and methods — including roasting, boiling, slow cooking and Ninja Foodi — see our How to Cook a Whole Gammon Joint guide.
Our gammon is air-dried alongside our Old Fashioned Yorkshire Bacon.

First time I’ve ordered my Christmas gammon joint from Grid Iron. It was absolutely perfect in every way. I only ever buy high welfare, slow grown, ethically raised meat so it had a lot to live up to. Honestly – the best we’ve ever had. The cut was ideal. Beautiful marbling throughout the meat. It was so tender and really delicious. Highly recommended!
