Cooking Methods
Grilled Wagyu Sirloin Steak: Preheat the grill to high heat. Place it on the grill. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until the desired level of doneness is achieved. Season the steak with salt and pepper. Let the steak rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
Pan-Seared Wagyu Sirloin Steak: Heat a cast iron skillet over high heat. Place it in the skillet. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until the desired level of doneness is achieved. Season the steak with salt and pepper. Let the steak rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
Sous Vide Wagyu Sirloin Steak: Preheat a sous vide machine to the desired temperature (54°C for medium-rare). Season the steak with salt and pepper, then place it in a vacuum-sealed bag. Cook the steak in the sous vide machine for 1-2 hours, depending on the thickness of the steak. Remove the steak from the bag and pat dry with paper towels. Sear the steak in a hot skillet for 1-2 minutes on each side, or until browned. Let the steak rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
Can you cook Wagyu sirloin steak in an air fryer? Here’s how:
Preheat your air fryer to 200°C.
Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray or lightly coat it with oil.
Place the seasoned steak in the air fryer basket and cook for 8-10 minutes for medium-rare, flipping the steak halfway through cooking.
Check the internal temperature of the steak using a meat thermometer. For medium-rare, the internal temperature should be 54-55°C.
Once cooked to your desired doneness, remove the steak from the air fryer and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving. Season your Wagyu sirloin steak with salt and pepper, and any other seasonings of your choice.
Keep in mind that cooking times may vary depending on the thickness of the steak and the power of your air fryer, so it’s important to check the internal temperature of the steak to ensure it’s cooked to your liking.
Many British celebrity chefs, such as Gordon Ramsay and Heston Blumenthal, have praised the quality and unique flavor profile of Wagyu beef, including Wagyu sirloin. They often recommend cooking it simply with salt and pepper to let the natural flavor of the beef shine through. However, they also caution that it’s important to source Wagyu beef from reputable suppliers and handle it with care during cooking to ensure the best results.
